Portland Tarot Study Group

On Sunday, May 18, we will begin a series of meetings in a study of
the Hermetic Qabalah as it relates to Tarot.

This first session will be an introduction and begin with a 59 minute
DVD by Lon Milo DuQuette called “Qabalah for the Rest Of Us.” This
will be followed by a brief history of Qabalah and a brief explanation
of Ain Soph Aur, The Limitless Light that is the cause of all
manifestation including the Tree of Life. We will end by doing
practice readings for each other.

We plan to have a session every month on this topic, and focus will be
on a different Sephirah, beginning with the first Sephirah, Kether,
and ending with the tenth, Malkuth. Of particular interest will be
the Four Worlds, color scales, and astrological attributions as they
relate to the Tarot cards. We will also have the opportunity to color
the four scales of the Sephirah we are dealing with. At the end of
ten meetings we will each have colored four separate Trees of Life as
they would appear in the Four Worlds according to Golden Dawn
attributions. Placing the Tarot cards on these Trees will give us
insights into how the cards relate to the Hermetic Qabalah. There
will be time to do practice readings at the end of each session based
on where we are on the Tree of Life.
